Program Structure & Curiculum

This is a one-year program, divided into two academic semesters. Upon successful completion of both semesters, students are required to complete a final thesis or applied project, which demonstrates the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired throughout the program.

Leading specialists from Switzerland and Europe — including highly qualified lawyers and law firm partners, representatives of international organizations, top managers, and entrepreneurs with vast practical experience (such as from the United Nations, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the World Trade Organization, as well as practicing lawyers from Swiss banks) — are actively involved in teaching. Students gain knowledge daily and engage with outstanding professionals who bring high qualifications and extensive real-world experience to the classroom.

Career Strategy Coaching

This course is designed for professionals who are ready to take a proactive, strategic approach to their careers. Foreign Languages

Mastering at least one foreign language is essential for today’s global professionals. At our institution, one language is mandatory and included in the core program, while additional languages may be taken for an extra fee.

Students may choose to study English, French, or German, with intensive instruction delivered by native-speaking instructors using methods specifically developed for international professionals.

Our small-group classes ensure personalized attention and create an optimal environment for effective learning.

Thanks to our structured approach, students are well-prepared to succeed in international language certification exams—often without the need for additional preparation.

Additional language training beyond the required course is available upon request.

Option

Students study English intensively in Geneva using advanced methods developed specifically for international legal and business professionals. Courses are led by experienced language instructors and professors from the Swiss School. Learners progress to C1/C2 levels, and those with a high starting level may join advanced groups alongside native speakers.

Business English

This professional-oriented course covers legal terminology, business writing, and key concepts in international business law. It also includes a business correspondence component, helping students develop the practical communication skills required for international legal and corporate environments.

Option

French is essential for students pursuing careers in international law or diplomacy. As one of the official languages of the United Nations, the EU, and many international organizations, French provides key advantages in global legal and political spheres. Courses are tailored to develop strong legal and formal communication skills.

Legal English
Upon Reaching the B2 Level

Option

After reaching a solid B2 level, students can join this specialized module in Legal English and French. It includes business/legal French and basic legal translation. The course introduces key legal terminology and concepts relevant to international law, Swiss and French legal systems, and commercial law (Français Commercial et Juridique).

Preparing for DAF
Option

The German course is designed for international students seeking a professional command of the language. Instruction combines the proven strengths of classical methods with modern, practice-oriented materials. Emphasis is placed on real-world communication skills useful in legal, diplomatic, and business contexts across German-speaking countries.

Key Details of the Program

Duration of Studies: 12 months to 18 months (three semesters) / 60 ECTS

The program consists of two academic semesters of coursework, followed by a third semester dedicated to the preparation and defense of a final thesis or applied project.

Language of Study: Study in English

Possibility to study advanced English in the field of Studies (Law / Business etc.), possibility to study French / German

Mode: Full Time | Part Time (On-Site | Blended Learning)

Accommodation in Switzerland

Variety of options available in the center of Geneva, as well as in the area of ​​​​international organizations: on campuses or in studios and apartments.

The Henri Dunant campus is located in the center of Geneva, a 7-minute walk from the Premises. The building houses a laundry, as well as a grocery store.

CityPop Apartments are 2 minutes from the Premises.

Visa Support and Residence Permit

To stay in Switzerland for studies lasting more than 90 days, a student non-resident of the EU is required to obtain an entry national study visa.

The presence of an entry study visa entitles the student to obtain a residence permit in Switzerland once in Geneva. 

Swiss School staff will assist you with paperwork regarding your visa request and book for you an appointment at the Swiss Embassy.

While internships are not formally embedded in the curriculum, students are encouraged to pursue them independently. Our team provides guidance and support, helping you make the most of every opportunity.

Admission

Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications:
At least a recognized Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (e.g., Bac+3), preferably in a related field.

English Language Proficiency:
Strong command of English (spoken and written), demonstrated through internationally recognized English exams (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL).
A waiver may be granted to applicants who:

  • Are native English speakers
  • Have completed at least two years of prior education fully or partially in English
  • Have verified work experience in English-speaking environments

If official certificates are unavailable due to special circumstances, applicants may contact us directly for further details.

Special Applications:
Candidates who do not fully meet the academic requirements may still apply under special conditions. They must demonstrate potential for success and submit:

  • A motivation letter outlining academic goals and program fit
  • A portfolio (e.g., reports, presentations, certifications)
  • Recommendation letters
  • Proof of relevant work experience (minimum 3 years, or 2+ years in a leadership role)

EU/EFTA Citizens (no visa required):

  • Apply by 15 August 2025 for the Autumn Semester 2025 (classes start on Monday, 8 September 2025)
  • Apply by 15 January 2026 for the Spring Semester 2026 (classes start on Monday, 9 February 2026)

Non-EU/EEA Citizens (visa required):

  • Apply by 15 June 2025 for the Autumn Semester 2025 (classes start on Monday, 8 September 2025)
